Before you cancel
A cancellation is simple to file and easy to get wrong. These six are confirmed before anything is submitted — because an overstay fine costs more than the cancellation itself.
Inside or outside country changes the documents, not the fee. Getting the route wrong means assembling the wrong file.
The sponsor remains responsible for the dependants until the cancellation is confirmed, and their original Emirates ID is needed to file.
The inside country route needs originals. Files stall most often because a family member has already travelled with their passport.
Cancellation starts a clock, and how many days you get depends on the visa’s status when it was cancelled.
Not every cancellation ends in departure. Where a dependant is moving to another sponsor, the timing has to work in both directions.
The file is not closed when the visa is cancelled. The approval paper is what proves the position, and the exit date on it is binding.

FAQs
60 days from the date of cancellation if the visa was not expired at the time. If the cancellation is done during the grace period, the remaining days are allowed without fine. If done during an overstay period, 6 days or fewer will be granted.
The visa cancellation charge is 300 AED per family member, on both the inside and outside country routes. Our service fee is quoted separately.
Outside country cancellation applies when the person stays outside the UAE for more than 6 months. If the cancellation is required before 6 months of exit, the sponsor should submit the family members’ passports at Immigration.
Documentation showing that the family members are outside the UAE, such as flight tickets or exit stamps, along with passport copies, current residence visa copies and Emirates ID copies if applicable.
You may be able to initiate the cancellation through the Sharjah Immigration Department’s online portal or the ICA website. Alternatively, visit the Sharjah Immigration Department or an authorized typing centre.
Always cross-check the date of exit on the Cancellation Approval Paper. The number of days granted may also differ for high professions, Golden Visa holders and similar categories.
